My work examines the contrasts between urban and rural landscapes, utilizing handmade pigments inspired by my subjects to create art that is both personal and relatable. I use various media, such as sculpture, painting, and mixed media, allowing each idea to dictate its form. Mizukami no Mai – Dance of the Water God
A mesmerizing composition that draws the viewer inward, as though caught in a divine current. Deep, swirling blues evoke the fluid grace of water in motion, while delicate flakes of gold glimmer like sunlight scattered across a sacred tide. At its heart, a radiant, refracting surface beckons—an ethereal portal where light and water become one.
Mizu Bon (“Water Basin”) reflects the role of water basins in Japanese tradition as spaces of cleansing, reflection, and connection. Cave-like forms and cascading white and gold evoke flow, renewal, and life’s cycles, while kintsugi-inspired gold accents highlight beauty in imperfection and transformation.
